5. Let’s Live and Love: to Lesbia

August 14, 2019

BY Thomas Muriuki

Today's pastiche of catullus's love poems is poem 5. Let’s Live and Love: to Lesbia:

 Let us just be; wild and wild,

 Live and love, my Lesbia

And the words of the old, and so unbecoming

May be worth nothing to us, not even farthing!

Sunrises may come and go, and sunsets alike

But once the light of our love has set

Night becomes one infinite show of thine cures marrying mine.

Nurse me with your kisses a thousand rounds, and a hundred more

Another thousand rounds and another

Pamper me that I look made anew to all;

So that no evil element may put us asunder,

From the knowledge that we’ve exchanged many a kiss

I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it :)
