Poem 92. Sign of Love: to Lesbia

BY Thomas Muriuki

The last feature of the parody series of Catullu's love poems is poem 92. Sign of Love.

I find it somewhat entertaining and wrote mimicry of the same.

Here goes...

Poem 92. Sign of Love: to Lesbia

Lesbia always talks ill of me, never lets it go

About me, perhaps my shortcomings are too many

 Too many

I smell damnation in her words

Or what does her ill-talk signify?

It is the same with me: I’m perpetually lamenting, but by the gods

What a fool be me if I don’t love her?
